Their seems to be half a dozen names for Phe Phe Ley, here is the right way to say it –
เกาะพีพีเล – Goh P P Lay
The word ‘Koh’ – เกาะ – Goh in the Thai language is the equivalent of the word ‘Island’ in English. พีพี – PE PE doesn’t have a meaning they are just letters of the alphabet in Thai, the English equivalent is = PP. เล – Lay – in Thai Language means Play, but in this case it root meaning is from the Thai word – ทะเล – Taa lay – meaning = sea
So… Koh Phi Phi Le = P P Lay Island.

WHAT’S ON OFFER –
MA-YA BAY –
Maya Bay is a sheltered cove protected by two 100 meter tall jagged cliffs with a narrow entrance from the outside ocean.
Gentle waves roll onto the fine, pure white sand beach and longtail boats are anchored along the shoreline. Lush green trees and a tropical rain forrest set the background to complete the picture.

LOH SA-MA BAY –
Loh Samah Bay is on the other side of the Island directly 250 meters behind Maya Bay, its a beautiful location and you can swim here, but care needs to be taken as there are many speed boats moving through the area.
PILEH BAY –
Pileh Bay / Pe-Lay Bay is another breath taking hidden lagoon just north of Loh Samah Bay, the cove proves shelter and is an ideal snorkelling spot, not to be missed.
VIKING CAVE
Viking cave is just 1 km north of Pileh Bay, and has a long history, named after old painting inside of Viking ships.

LOCATION
Set between Phuket and the mainland of Thailand and directly south of the district and township of Krabi in the Andaman Sea, the Island can virtually be accessed from any direction by boat, as it sits in an archipelago and is part of the Phi Phi group of islands that are all frequented by local Thai fishermen and Thai tourist guides alike.
Sitting only 2 km’s south of Phi Phi Don, the largest Island in the group, it is a very popular stopping point for tourists who have paid for an Island sightseeing tour package

HOW TO GET THERE
Of course the best way to get to the Island is by doing a little research and finding and booking with a tour operator as a day trip package deal.
The only way to get to Koh Phi Phi Le is by boat –

How long it takes you to get to Koh Phi Phi Le will depend on what port you leave from and what type of boat you take.
Koh Phi Phi Le is about 40 -45 km’s east from Phuket and about 37 km’s south from Krabi
