DISCOVER NAI HARN BEACH

Nai Harn Beach is one of those places that most people discover by accident, if you’re like me, you found this little gem on the way to the heavily advertised Promthep Viewpoint just 2 km’s further south.

WATCH FOR THE SIGNS

Like other beautiful spots on Phuket, you drive straight past this unassuming little hideaway, because there is so much to look at, you can miss the way in completely without even knowing it’s there.

It can be a hard to spot signs – the area is so beautiful and distracting

NAI HARN BEACH LAGOON

So, if you miss as the signs, but you suddenly find yourself travelling alongside a fresh water lake, that’s your cue that you have arrived at Nai Harn Beach, and you need to take a detour here and drive around the lagoon, when you see the Buddhist temple, then you are only a hundred meters or so from the beach.

NORTH CAR PARK

Just north, past the temple, is the car park, and it’s here you can leave your vehicle behind and start to explore the area on foot, and the beach is just a short stroll away, as are the striking bay views that will greet you and put a smile on your face.

HOW TO GET THERE

Where ever you are on Phuket Island, (with the exception of Rawai) head south and follow the signs to Promthep Viewpoint, there are a few signs to Nai Harn Beach as well, but the majority of the signs will be to Promthep Point.

Once you are on Highway- 4233, you are on the right track, and if you end up near Rawai after going down the east side of the Island on Highway – 4024, then you are nearly there.

NIGHTLIFE

Nai Harn Beach basically has no nightlife, except a couple of small local bars not far from the beach at the south end. The town is where you will find a bit more action, and there are plenty of bars and bar girls who are happy to party with whoever walks into the bar. There is also plenty of restaurants that have an alfresco ambiance where you can relax and listen to quiet music playing in the background as an alternative to the bars.
